Back on Track: Post-Bariatric Weight Regain & RevisionSupport
Obesity is a chronic, relapsing medical condition — not a failure of willpower. Weight regain after bariatric surgery is common and multifactorial, reflecting biological adaptation, behavioral patterns, psychological stressors, and environmental influences over time. Experiencing regain does not mean you have failed.
Our “Back on Track” service provides focused, evidence-informed psychological support for individuals who are experiencing weight recurrence or considering revision surgery. This brief intervention (typically 4–6 sessions) is designed to help patients re-engage with the tools that support long-term outcomes.
Services May Include:
Identification of behavioral and emotional contributors to weight regain
Treatment of grazing, emotional eating, binge eating, restricting
Re-establishing structure, accountability, and sustainable routines
Strengthening coping skills and relapse-prevention strategies
Clarifying readiness and psychological risk factors for revision surgery
Integration with Anti-Obesity, Metabolic Medications
For some patients, long-term management may include medication intervention, including GLP-1 receptor agonists or dual-agonist therapies. When appropriate, sessions can support:
Addressing psychological factors that medication alone does not resolve
Coordinating care with prescribing providers
Medication can be a powerful adjunct — but sustainable outcomes still require behavioral and psychological support.
Zero-Judgment, Stigma-Informed Care
Care is delivered within a compassionate, non-shaming framework that recognizes obesity as a chronic disease requiring ongoing management. Our approach prioritizes dignity, collaboration, and practical solutions — not blame. we.get.it.
Telehealth Availability
Services are available via secure telehealth, allowing patients to access specialized bariatric behavioral support from the comfort of home. Telehealth sessions are structured, confidential, and designed to provide the same level of clinical depth and effectiveness as in-person care.
